My mission has always been to build thoughtful technologies and tools that give developers more control.
Most people know me as the creator of Gentoo Linux. Gentoo delivered something different: source-based builds, flexible package management, and user-controlled optimization brought together into a Linux distribution people could run every day. The foundational work behind Gentoo was later adopted by Google as the basis for ChromeOS. I continued that line of work through Funtoo Linux, and today I maintain durable Open Source infrastructure under Kernel Seeds, including Keychain, a security utility that has remained in active use for more than two decades.
My work has also taken me through environments where technology has to be understood strategically, not just technically. At Microsoft, I served on the Platform Strategy team, helping Microsoft make sense of the world of Open Source at a time when the industry was still learning how to relate to it. Later, as a Senior Principal at E*TRADE Financial, I worked on enterprise systems where reliability, scale, and operational clarity mattered every day. I have also delivered security, performance, and infrastructure work for government agencies, and wrote extensively for IBM developerWorks, creating foundational articles that helped an entire generation of new Linux users as they entered a new era of computing.
The through-line is simple: developers do their best work when they understand and control the systems they depend on. Gentoo gave developers control over how their operating system was built. Keychain helped make secure shell workflows more usable. Kernel Seeds gives long-lived tools a stable Open Source home.
Agentic AI should extend that same control, but today it often does the opposite. Rate limits interrupt flow. Context windows collapse. Model access is fragmented. Open-weight models are powerful, but frustratingly hard to integrate into the places where developers already work.
This is why I am building AgentBridge through BreezyOps.
BreezyOps restores clarity and flow to the agentic developer experience. By seamlessly integrating the frontier of open-weight models with Visual Studio Code, we deliver choice and freedom to developers worldwide.
AgentBridge is the next expression of the same mission that has guided my work for decades: remove roadblocks by creating powerful tools that streamline the developer experience.
I invite you to join me on this mission.
